April 8, 2022 My brother is coming for the weekend to help me knock out some cooking for the next edition of the magazine. Not surprising for our family, he knows his way around the kitchen; various friends will drop by Saturday and Sunday night to nosh. April 1, 2022 Our neighborhood crawfish boil was a huge success last weekend. The three sacks of crawfish were cooked to perfection, and the rest was set up as a pot luck, one of my favorite forms of entertaining for a big crowd. Those who cook bring their very best dishes, those who don't, bring plates, utensils, and beverages to share. March 25, 2022 Our neighborhood crawfish boil weekend has arrived, and we couldn't have ordered better weather. Sunny and 75, with a hint of spicy. March 19, 2022 It looks like we have a beautiful weekend in store and I have to say, after the initial adjustment to the time change, I love the longer evenings that daylight savigs time brings. I intend to put something on the grill; I included a recipe for my favorite grilled artichokes here a couple of weeks ago and we've been enjoying those about once a week since they're in season. March 11, 2022 One last hurrah around the state this weekend: St. Patrick's Day parades roll in various locations, including my neighborhood here in New Orleans. I'm hoping for a cabbage, some potatoes, onions, and carrots, all to go in with the corned beef I'll be making next week!  Spring sprung briefly yesterday; hopefully this weekend's cold snap will be the last one of the year. February 25, 2022 Mardi Gras is here. Parades all around, so we have to carefully plan how and when we're going to navigate around the city; it only takes one time getting stuck on the wrong side of the parade route to make sure it doesn't happen again.
